HESA Empowers Students with CV Writing and Interview Skills

Over 60 students gained vital CV writing and interview skills during HESA’s impactful training session, preparing them for confident transitions into the professional world.

In every academic journey, there comes a pivotal moment—the transition from the lecture hall to the professional arena. On the evening of Saturday, 28th September 2024, over 60 health students gathered virtually for a session that addressed one of the most vital yet frequently overlooked components of career readiness: how to present oneself on paper and in person.

Organized under the leadership of HESA General Secretary, Svetlana Ami Mortoo, the CV Writing and Interview Skills Training Session was more than a workshop—it was a rite of passage. Aimed at empowering students for their next chapter, the initiative reflected HESA's commitment to holistic student development.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Henry Adams, who guided attendees through the nuances of crafting an effective CV and preparing for interviews. From format to focus, Mr. Adams provided a strategic breakdown of professional documentation, techniques for impactful self-presentation, and replicable frameworks for responding to interview questions with clarity and confidence.

But this was not a typical lecture. The virtual room was filled with engagement—questions were raised, real-life examples were dissected, and theory gave way to practice. By the end, students walked away not only with technical knowledge but also with a renewed sense of purpose and preparedness.

The event itself was the fruit of a month-long planning effort, marked by active publicity and logistical coordination. The results? 65 participants, two hours of intensive learning, and a strong wave of positive feedback.

In hosting this training, HESA demonstrated the power of foresight and the value of preparation. As students prepare to step into the professional world, sessions like these serve as timely reminders: career readiness isn’t just about skills—it’s about confidence, clarity, and courage.
