Alumni Connect Bridges Students and Mentors
On Saturday, December
14, 2024, the HESA General Secretary, Svetlana Ami Mortoo, successfully
coordinated the Alumni Connect, a program aimed at connecting students with
prominent alumni in their various fields. Three esteemed alumni: Dr. Benjamin
Sasu, Dr. Nana Kwaku Bugyei, and Dr. Bright Ampofo, were invited to share their
insightful knowledge and experiences. The program, which reached 50 Health
Science Students, was held online via Google Meet from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The guest speakers
shared their experiences in the university, deliberated on the importance of
taking up leadership roles as students and offered practical advice on career
preparation. They also discussed how to navigate relationships within the
university setting, providing valuable insights that resonated with the
students. The session was interactive, with students asking questions about
career opportunities in their respective fields.
The Alumni Connect was a
resounding success, achieving its aim of bridging the gap between students and
alumni. Students praised the initiative, stating that they gained valuable
knowledge and insights from the experienced professionals. Thanks to our esteemed
alumni, the impact of this program will be felt for a long time, as students
apply the lessons learned to their academic, social and professional pursuits.
