Alumni Connect Bridges Students and Mentors

Health Science students gained valuable insights on leadership, careers, and relationships during an interactive session with distinguished alumni hosted online by HESA on December 14, 2024.

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, the HESA General Secretary, Svetlana Ami Mortoo, successfully coordinated the Alumni Connect, a program aimed at connecting students with prominent alumni in their various fields. Three esteemed alumni: Dr. Benjamin Sasu, Dr. Nana Kwaku Bugyei, and Dr. Bright Ampofo, were invited to share their insightful knowledge and experiences. The program, which reached 50 Health Science Students, was held online via Google Meet from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The guest speakers shared their experiences in the university, deliberated on the importance of taking up leadership roles as students and offered practical advice on career preparation. They also discussed how to navigate relationships within the university setting, providing valuable insights that resonated with the students. The session was interactive, with students asking questions about career opportunities in their respective fields.

The Alumni Connect was a resounding success, achieving its aim of bridging the gap between students and alumni. Students praised the initiative, stating that they gained valuable knowledge and insights from the experienced professionals. Thanks to our esteemed alumni, the impact of this program will be felt for a long time, as students apply the lessons learned to their academic, social and professional pursuits.
