Akwaaba Night Welcomes Students With Joy
At the dawn of the 2024/2025 academic year, HESA-KNUST organized its annual entertainment program dubbed “Akwaaba Night”, which is a night of entertainment
organized at the beginning of the academic year to give students, especially
freshmen, a dose of fun before real academic work begins.
The
MC for the night, Ms. Rebecca Awinbila, welcomed everyone to the program. She
also shared an interesting quote to set the mood for the program. “HESA is the
best student association in the whole of West Africa, if the rest do not agree,
they should argue with their presidents because we’re chilling with ours,” she
stated.
From
Ludu and Snooker to PlayStation 5 tournaments, students had plenty of options
to unwind and bond. A live DJ kept the vibe upbeat with music that got students
dancing and singing along, while the media team captured all the best moments.
Laughter echoed through the hall as both freshers and continuing students came
together in a rare moment of shared joy outside the lecture rooms.
The
event was a clear success. Students praised the energy, the organization, and
the delicious food from local vendors. Many described it as a refreshing and
much-needed break that helped them reconnect with peers and rediscover a sense
of balance. The organizers expressed their gratitude to everyone who made the
evening possible and shared their excitement about planning even more events
that support student well-being and create lasting memories on campus.
