Academic Support In Action

Through virtual and in-person sessions, HESA’s tutorials offered timely academic support across departments, helping students tackle key topics and gear up for mid-semester and final exams.

As part of commitment to student academic success, the Academic Board of HESA, in partnership with The Welfare Committee, led by Vice President Kwame Antwi, organized a Virtual Mid-Semester Tutorial Session on 22nd February, 2025, which provided quick, targeted academic reinforcement across key areas including Pathology, Measures of Participation, Cell Structure, and Pharmacology to students from all the departments. Despite minor internet hiccups and tight timing, the facilitators rose to the occasion—seamlessly adapting through alternative audio formats and ensuring that no student was left behind.

The sessions were interactive, concise, and well-received, giving students just the right push ahead of exams. Encouraging feedback highlighted the usefulness of the sessions, though suggestions were made for improved planning and better network reliability in subsequent iterations.

Undeterred by the challenges of the initiative and still dedicated to supporting students academically, the committees organized another tutorial session at the end of the semester—this time held in person. The session created an electrifying learning environment filled with energy, focus, and intellectual exchange. Covering essential areas such as Cell Structure, Genetics, Measures of Participation, Biological Chemistry, and BMC, the sessions were tailored to reinforce concepts and prepare students for final exams.

Though initial plans met a few logistical snags, adaptive teamwork ensured a smooth and productive day. The atmosphere was both mentally stimulating and socially enriching—exactly what was needed as the semester drew to a close.
