HESA Welcomes 8th Administration in Colorful Handing Over Ceremony
The
HESA Handing Over Ceremony took place on September 3, 2024, at the Provost's
Conference room, marking a significant transition from the 7th HESA
administration to the newly elected 8th administration. The ceremony was
attended by key stakeholders, including the Provost, executives of the outgoing
administration, department executives, and members of HESA.
In
his keynote address, the Provost of the College, Prof. Christian Agyare, emphasized
the importance of responsible leadership, urging the newly elected executives
to take up their roles with seriousness and dedication. He also commended the
outgoing executives for their remarkable tenure and encouraged them to continue
their diligent efforts.
A
notable highlight of the ceremony was the oath-taking ceremony, where the newly
appointed Judicial Chair, Caleb Asiamah, was sworn in by the outgoing Judicial
Chair. The Judicial Chair then administered the oath of office to the Speaker
of the HESA Senate, Rt. Hon Rita Adasi, and subsequently to the other
executives.
The
newly inaugurated executives were:
1. Samuel
Tampanga Wepeah - HESA President
2. Kwame
Ahenkora Antwi - Vice President
3. Svetlana
Ami Mortoo - General Secretary
4. Andrew
Owusu Afful - Financial Secretary
5. Edwin
Scott Nkrumah - Organizing Secretary
6. Stephen
Debrah Aduse-Poku - Health Officer
7. Shulamite
Asamoah - Women's Commissioner
The
new administration's vision is to contribute to the chorus of change, making a
lasting impact in the history of HESA. The outgoing executives expressed
satisfaction with the transition and offered words of wisdom to their
successors. The outgoing President, Master Bernard Bosomah Yeboah, urged the
new executives to remain diligent and united in their endeavours. He also
encouraged stakeholders to support the new executives by engaging with them and
offering constructive feedback.
The
ceremony concluded with the launch of the new HESA cloth by the 7th HESA administration,
which will serve as an official souvenir for members of HESA. The event was met with
enthusiasm and applause from the attendees, who later congratulated the newly
sworn-in executives and took photographs.
The
8th HESA administration, led by Master Samuel Tampanga Wepeah
appeared to take on the mantle with a renewed sense of energy and zeal to make
a resounding statement worthy of being etched in the annals of the Association:
a statement that current members and posterity look forward to witnessing in
full glare.
