HESA Electoral Commissioner Warns Aspirants: Paperless Policy Still in Effect

KNUST’s HESA Electoral Commissioner warns candidates against printing posters, reinforcing the university's paperless policy. Aspirants have 48 hours to comply or face disciplinary action.

KNUST's push for a fully paperless campus remains in full force, with the HESA Electoral Commissioner issuing a stern reminder to all aspirants ahead of the upcoming student elections.

The university’s paperless policy, in place since before 2010, aims to eliminate the use of physical paper across campus. It covers examinations, admissions, notices, and general administrative work. Key milestones include fully online admissions, a ban on paper notices, and a shift toward computer-based exams. The policy also supports e-learning, Open Educational Resources (OERs), and strict enforcement through disciplinary actions.

Committed to enforcing the Paperless Policy, the HESA Electoral Commissioner, Master Philip Adom Kyei, has issued a public notice today, raising concerns about candidates printing and displaying posters, referring to it as a direct violation of the paperless policy.

All offending aspirants have been given 48 hours to take down printed materials or face disciplinary action. He urged all candidates to conduct their campaigns via approved digital platforms.

The reminder serves as both a warning and a reaffirmation of KNUST’s commitment to a cleaner, tech-driven academic environment.
